Maliasan Ashram Shala

Dear All, I am pleased to share with you the Social Services progress of Shree Lok Seva Samaj Trust. We are focused on education support through two projects:

  1. Socio-economically "Challenged Children" from standard 1st-12th support through the Ashram Shala at Maliasan village.
  2. "Girl Child Empowerment" program through Dalibai Girls Hostel, Rajkot.

EMPOWERMENT OF SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN AT MALIASAN ASHARAMSHALA

At present 126 students are provided free boarding and lodging at Maliasan Ashram Shala with capacity of 100-120 at a time. Over the years hundreds of girls and boys have benefited.

Current state of residential facilities are shown in photos here. You will see we urgently need to enhance some of the facilities to the minimum targeted level.

About Us

Lok seva Samaj trust works in the field of education and social services through its two residential educational facilities for under-privileged poor boys and girls who belong to socio-economically challenged communities of the rural Gujarat.

Shree Lok seva samaj trust ashram shala Maliasan

  • Shree Lok seva samaj trust ashram shala for boys and girls is situated in Maliasan village. The village is located about 15km away from Rajkot on Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway
  • The residential school for standard 1 to 7, is currently having 126 students (100 boys, and 26 girls) residing at this facility
  • The Trust provides free of cost lodging, boarding and educational facilities.
  • Provision for separate boys hostel for high school students
  • From giving wake up calls till lights off we focus on improving the conditions by which children, especially under-privileged communities can access education to live and lead more productive life

Why to support our ashram shala

  • Education is the key for rural development in India and Asharamshala is located in a rural area.
  • Ashramshala provides free boarding and lodging facilities to the students and also provide conductive educational environment.
  • Most of the schools in rural areas struggle with availability of the teachers in Asharamshala are residing within the campus and available to students
  • The effects of poverty on children are wide-reaching and can lead to lifelong struggle, especailly when young people don't receive full education.

Needs and requirements

One way to improve the educational system in rural area is proper toilets and sanitation: It does matter to have better toilet and clean environment near school, specially when you have girls students

Need

The existing facility is having common bathroom toilet facilities which has been in a very poor condition hence needs to be refurbished. Currently the students sleep on the floor and there is a dire need for the provision of mattresses and bunk bed to enhance the residential facilities
